here are my questions........I have found two cars they are both classic cars and have been off the road for sometime now and don't have any paper work like the bluebook.

Q1, Should I buy the car without a registration bluebook?.

Q2, If it's okay to buy without the bluebook what or how do I apply to have a new bluebook done in my name?.

Q3, What would the time scale be for getting all this done.........I know how long is a piece of string?.

Q4, Because the classic car has been of the road for sometime like years would I need to pay the back duty tax on this?.

Now the rest of the issues and problems with owning or registering cars in Thailand are covered and I know the ins and outs of......!

Your answers to all or just some of them wouldn't go unnoticed and will thank you in advance :)

Do the vendors have title ? i'm sure there are people that when driving see a semi derilict / derilict vehicle by the side of the road take photos, post them on Taladrod / Thaiscooter saying no blue book to see if theres interest and therefore money .

You can buy paperwork of the same manufacturer, I restored a bmw without paperwork and got it changed for a fee. Friend of mine imported a chrysler 300 (prices here are REDICULOUS and no HEMI) he alledgedly was going to buy a chrysler neon (90k for the car) recycle the car and use the book, have not gone through the process myself but i guarentee you can definately buy paperwork if you are unable to retrace the paperwork the cars alledgedly had to begin with. Im assuming your getting the cars for a steal? no paperwork is a massive inconvienance, i dont even buy engines without paperwork.

As far as I know it had bluebook before but has been misplaced!blink.gif @ Caphant yes I'm getting the cars for a steal and thank you guys for the help.

I just need to find out more details about the history to the said cars and check over some other details like the VIN numbers and go from there.

But please keep the information coming people as we all could learn from experiences.
