Porn videos openly for sale on Pattaya streets

PATTAYA: -- Pornographic videos continue to be openly for sale on the main tourist streets of Pattaya despite City Hall pronouncements claiming the city is now a family oriented resort. The videos cater to both the heterosexual and homosexual markets, and although the child porn videos appear to no longer be openly displayed, they are still on sale in the backrooms.

While this news is hardly earth-shattering or even remotely surprising, it does tend to make a mockery of the Pattaya city administration and its Cloud Nine pronouncements.

If there wasn’t a market for this kind of material then you can bet your last baht (if gambling was legal in Thailand of course) there wouldn’t be a vendor flogging it.

Personally, I find the hypocrisy in Thailand over porn using adult models to be sadly laughable. Why is it illegal? Is this country run by the Taliban? However, it really does not belong on the streets and openly displayed.

Like all vices, porn cannot be eliminated. But I do think it should be controlled especially in the display of items. Maybe the reason City Hall cannot do anything is because City Hall is behind it!!

A new addition to this is the Sex toys that are now sold on Beach road. I only ever saw this in BKK near Nana before.

But, more than 10 years ago I was working in Denmark and right on a high street in the town where I was staying was a sex toy shop and video store. and next door but one was....MacDonalds

So depending on how "liberal minded you are" depends on how you react to seeing these things.

For me Amsterdam sells tourism and sex and no one gets hot under the collar about that.....

In fact, they charge higher rent if the vendors sell porn, fake watches, or copyright movies.

Disgusting. A sex shop and McDonalds in same location? Think of the children! It should be closed down - The McDonalds, I means.

Sex is a normal part of life (that is how you got here, right?), but McDonalds can cause obesity (So it maybe difficult to have sex with your spouse)
