That Jatuporn needs to even consider whether Thaksin would also be sueing shows just how corrupt this governemnt is. Hullo Jatuporn, Thaksin is a convicted criminal and has no association with the thai government...well yeah I believe in fairies too.

All you anti Thaksin people...get a life. The sky is not caving in due to Thaksin. First, he was convicted by a junta due to a military coup who established an illegitimate government. How can an illegitimate gov't convict someone? Second, for you anti Thaksin more-ons, all of Thailand is corrupt. You keep kicking the same dead horse.

With Comments of this standard I know who's a "more -on"

I wasn't aware that you needed a coup to convict someone of money laundering while being PM. Was money laundering for Prime Ministers legal prior to the coup? Maybe that will be the purpose of re-writing the constitution.

Didn't Jatuporn use his is MP status to make hime immune from prosecution? The whole point of this to allow politicians to question decisions made and is part of the democratic process and checks and balances to prevent abuse of power, etc?

Red shirts=hypocrits. They do what they want and then they raise it as an issue when others do the same as them?

The muppeteer works for the puppeteer?

Yes, he was released from prison using Parliamentary Immunity, although he seemed quite happy in prison garb and shackles...

Comparing the photo with the one in the OP, Jatuporn is clearly much happier serving time in prison than he is serving time in Parliament.

I think special consideration should be extended to have him return to where he is happier.

I didn't realise the PPP government was illegitimate ... (except for the vote buying of course).

well, it was the bastard stepchild of TRT

PPP was aptly described as Second String of TRT.

PTP as the 3rd Sting benchwarmers and idiot children.

'More on' the mark than off, is this one.

EC rules 4:1 to cancel Jatuporn's MP status for not casting his vote in general election;case to be sent to House speaker before year-end/TAN_Network

The above was posted some 10 minutes or so back. the outcome of the matter if it affects Jutuporns M.P. status will indeed put an entirely different spin on matters legal in more ways than one.

Who will be in a position to sue who one is led to wonder ?

Since the EC has cancelled Jatuporn's MP status, he can no longer claim Parliamentary Immunity. By law, he should be back in jail about now?

EC disqualifies Pheu Thai MP Jatuporn

Election Commission on Tuesday disqualified outspoken Pheu Thai MP Jatuporn Prompan for not voting in the July 3 general election.

The EC voted four to one to disqualify Jatuporn, a prominent leader of red shirt movement and Pheu Thai party list MP, who was detained when the election took place in July.

The EC will forward the case to the Constitution Court for final approval.

Only decent, law abiding, upstanding and honest people should be allowed to be MPs. Well thats how it works in other countries. If I lived in his constituency, I would be very happy. I have no axe to grind, but he clearly has!

It still makes me wonder how people can still enthusiastically support and defend the Red Shirt movement and the Pheu Thai party when you have Jatuporn and other thugs leading both organizations.

Jatuporn's tactic is to keep the focus on the Dems/elite side in terms of unfair/unwarranted attacks on him/his side. Over the years it has been a very effective tactic and kept his side party way ahead of the Democrats and has worked well in bringing the the carefully created and manipulated clean Democrat image down into the mud wrestling all the same level, which is probably a lot closer to the truth anyway.

Jatuporn is seen by people (surprisingly to me across the poltical spectrum, but maybe we shouldnt underestimte the intellignec eof the avarage Thai person in understanding poltics better than those who try to manipualte it) as a hardcore (even good hardcore speaker), and he has his own (limited but quite substantial) hardcore following. However, this gives him the freedom poltically to indulge in all kinds of actions and attacks. He doesnt have to come across as following a set of artificial morals or artifical ethics as all of his opponents have to try (very unsuccesfully) to do. He just speaks and acts for "his" people. The media/elite/democrats etc also label the whole red/ptp alliance this way. the interesting part is that PTP/reds dont even waste time trying to fight that but just try to show that the elite/dems/bureaucracy are just as low. They do this fairly succesfully in many many peoples minds. Jatuporn is a leading light in doing this. It is worth understanding the roles the various players play in these games.

Can Jatuporn (otherwise known as King Kong), be charged with impersonating an MP?

And all those receipts that he has from TS, does it state from TS or what?

Posted

it IS juvenile - but the Dems were the first to start the censure rubbish - if they 'rose above it' and behaved solidly and with 'tactical intelligence' they would gain public support back but they just don't 'get it'

"Censure rubbish" - yes, the opposition using political procedures in parliament to try and keep the government honest is a terrible use of democracy isn't it.

SO what if the receipts are proven to be honest? Is it slander or not? I will be interested to see how this goes.

It makes me wonder whether some people really have any idea. A little survey for you: ask ten Thais of random backgrounds whether Suthep Thaugsuban is an honest man or a 'thug'... Otherwise, simply check Wiki...

Most Red Shirts, including a lot of their nuttier factions, have no will or aim to push for anything close to Freedom of Speech.

There is only one law they attack and it is for some very different reasons. They are happy to use any off-hand tactics to silence any critics when they can.
