haroldc
Can anyone recommend a family-friendly, moderately priced restaurant for steak? Thanks for your help.
CharlieH
Sizzler, Siam Discovery, family friendly , nice meal, good service and not too expensive. The Beef is Australian and I thoroughly enjoyed it, excellent soup/salad bar and range of sweets. Edited December 2, 2011 by CharlieH
beano2274
Would also help if you said where in BKK you are. I know many good Thai places and also the 129 buffet places are usually quite nice. But for a good steak I do enjoy Sizzlers, but Fuji have some nice sets as well.

vpi78
Neil's Tavern. Yeah, moderately priced is rather subjective. Won't meet too many English teachers at Neil's but it is family friendly and the steaks are good.
dddave
Very good and reasonably priced steaks at the restaurant within the 7th floor market next to the meat dept. in CENTRAL WORLD, next to the cinema. Choice of Thai-French or Australian beef, usually skillfully cooked and plated with a nice salad and sauteed vegetables: B199-B399 Good fish, chicken and pasta selections as well. Not exactly a romantic atmosphere but you can buy a bottle of wine in the wine dept and they will provide glasses.

No, this is a cafe within the market itself, next to the meat and seafood dept.
phaethon
Farm Chokchai Steakhouse is an American-style steakhouse complete with covered wagon motifs. Not a bad New York strip at the one on Suk. Soi 23. http://www.farmchokchai.com/en/index_content.php?content_id=

Soi 23. Yeah our kids love that place but the prices have gone up and while the meat is decent, the way they cook it is average at best. Might as well pay the extra and get a decent steak at Tenderloins or the Aussie pub
pauljones
Mizus Steak House on PatPong is a trip. A daytime visit for a family could be fun. Last time I was there, they served up a steak on a SIZZILING plate for 200 Bt..
bkkjames
Bought two decent sized wagyu aussie striploins at gourmet market paragon yesterday. Tender juicy but not the same as the usa equiv in terms of flavour-average/bland. Considering the two set me back 1,377 baht, I will stick to less tender thai/french for 1/4 of the cost. hhfarang
Tenderloins on Soi 33 is very good but I'm not sure you would consider it reasonably priced. Chokchai mentioned before may be the better choice for prices and family.
