Asked For A Double-Entry, Got A Single. What Next?

Featured Replies

So, I went to the Thai Consulate in Chicago (as I was there on business) to get tourist visas for my girlfriend and me.

Had everything ready, turned them in, asked for 2 entries per visa. Mistakenly only paid for one entry, and thus got single entry visas. My screwup - I hadn't had to pay for a visa for 2 years.

We plan on staying there between 5 and 6 months, which is why we wanted double entry visas. I was planning to come back to the US for a few weeks after the first use ran out, and return to Thailand for the second use. Girlfriend was either going to come back with me or go to Singapore for a few days. Now that we only have single entries, obviously we have to use them and leave the country within 90 days legally.

My question is, at this point, is it okay to get another visa from a consulate in the US, or are they going to hassle me about having back-to-back visas? I know they're cracking down on back-to-backs in the region, so I wasn't really interested in doing a visa run. But what if the visa 'run' is back to my home country? (I have to go back for business related things regardless, so it's not a complete waste; in fact, the money I make while in the US more than covers the airfare needed.)

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

TIA

You can get another tourist visa from another consulate, it dosn't have to be from one in your home country.
