Visa Run From Pattaya To Phonm Phen

Featured Replies

Hi All

my son (21) needs a new thailand visa.. at least a double entry tourist.

he is currently near pattaya .

he went to laos and was refused as they had red stamped him on a previos visit on his 1st tourist visa application (shxt happens)

he is a bit worried about making his own way to phom phen and doing it himself..

are there any visa companies in pattaya who do organised trips to phom pehn for double entry tourist visas ?

Do not believe there is any service for two entry in PP (as they are unlikely to provide).

I thought PP was one of the easy double entry tourist places ?

or at least it was when i went myself 6 monhts ago . just left my passport and $$ with security gaurd at the embassy and he filled all the forms in even..

if not PP .. what are his other options for getting a double entry tourist visa...

Laos is the only option for double entry tourist visa's in the area (at this time) as far as I know. He is unlikely to even get a single entry in Cambodia without flight details, hotel info, etc.. Things have changed over there. He might have to fly back home and apply there or you can try again in Laos through an agent. After a red stamp and refusal I don't know if even an agent can fix that. Good Luck!

Maybe look into the education visa?

Those red stamps are problematic they seem to be handing them out like candy now even for single entry visa people. I got one but this was my third stamp so I understand. I would like to know how it turns out for your son. He can try staying at the Flamingo hotel the guy who runs the place is pretty savvy on that kind of stuff. I have heard of a place called the motor cycle shop in PP that is suppose to get stuff done also. I know a lot of things changed in August but then the floods happened so more things changed. My guess is there are a lot less people coming here and until they get tired of the exodus to neighboring countries the only people left will be 50+ year old punters on pensions.

A buddy of mine just did his third back-to-back trip to Phnom Penh to get a double entry tourist visa an didn't report any troubles.

Last weekend I did the bus journey from Pattaya to Phnom Penh and just getting there was a pain in the *rse.

Bus from Pattaya to Rayong, Rayong to Chantaburi, Chantaburi to Trat, and two songtoews to get from Trat to Koh Kong.

The usual <deleted> around by Cambodia immigration demanding Thai baht to pay for the entry visa - which I didn't have - followed by wanting to know if I had an ATM card and that I should go back to the Thai side and withdraw baht if I did have one.

Starting in Pattaya at 9.30am I finally got in to Koh Kong at 7pm at night and that was with short wait-time connections at each stop.

Coming back is even worse with the Trat to Pattaya bus leaving at 5am, while the Trat to Bangkok bus will only stop in Chonburi.

I have heard of a place called the motor cycle shop in PP that is suppose to get stuff done also.

Lucky Lucky Motorcycle rentals and travel services, near the Capital Guesthouse on the main street, something like "Montavien". They can get the Thai tourist VISA's with a small service charge. The double entry was available but as others have said, this changes with the wind. There are also agencies in Pattaya to bus/van you to PoiPet, you stay there for two nights, and they take your passport to PNH and get it done, return same to you in PoiPet. Mostly just casino's and Vietnamese brothels in PoiPet but life could be worse? Check with "Bri-Joy" on Soi Bouikow for this option.

You can get a mini van to the border for 800baht from Pattaya(Koh Chang Travel on Soi Post Office) or catch "35Group" on Pattaya Tai and Sukhumvit to Trat then connect to the border in another mini van to the border. The eVisa to Cambodia is available online but you need a credit card. Usually within a couple days issued, you print it out, away you go, no upcharge or other demands in Koh Kong. I of course don't know your passport information but assume that okay/allowed from your country. The buses are available all day to Pattaya. Not sure how you ended up on the Bangkok only bus but it takes a short cut to Chonburi. Overall, you simply didn't prepare for your trip IMHO. No worries. Up to you, prepare or get raked over the coals and scammed and suffer all the delays. It's a long trip in one day even if you know what you are doing. Better to spend one night in KK at Koh Kong City Hotel on the river. Not sure about the brothels as rumored closed, but it's a nice little town. They sell beer and I assume other things. Rains a lot. Koh Kong is unique as you feel like you've reached the end of earth yet you have been taught the earth is round?

Just yesterday I called Lucky motos about a visa to Thailand Reply was "No way to get a double Tourist visa at this time" They quoted me $47. for a single Tourist visa with a 4 day wait. I havnt had a Tourist visa for about 8 years but this seemed expensive to me.

To be honest, I don't know if the Tourist Visa's are still freel. The service charge should only be $5-$10.usd. The four days seems wrong as well but times change. Worth checking at another agency if one is there in PNH. There are also touts hanging out in front of the Thai embassy. I got the impression it was all about the money but I could be very wrong.

Visas have not been free for almost a year now. Double entry is just about impossible to obtain and even single entry may not be provided and will/may take up to four days to process. Almost nobody is providing visa service in or to PP at present as it is a loss leader as the only constant seems to be inconsistency and problems.

That's Lucky Lucky motorcycle shop on Monivong road

Visa is $40 so they are only putting on $7 which u will save half in tuk tuk's ;)

I think the visas run 35$ us each. So they are not making much. I have used the service out of the Flamingo hotel(PP) back in May and did Laos last week(Both doubles) The trip to Laos was grueling and I ended up getting that red stamp in my passport. Poi Pet can also be reached from Victory Monument in Bkk its 220 baht. The trick to not paying Baht to the border is 20US and 100Baht it says sorry I know the rules here is a 100baht tip to not bother with me.

Hi there, we are travelling se asia by car and me and my girlfriend just got a double entry tourist visum for thailand in phnom penh. We had already one used single entry tourist visum in our passport and some more land crossing stamps (15 days). We had to show a hotel reservation printout (done in 5 minutes through agoda.com) and a bank receipt showing we had money on the bank. For the rest no questiones asked really straight forward $80 each.

cheers! Floris

this is not true, we got our double entry last week in 2 days.

Like i have mentioned before, go to the embassy and just hang around until somebody official approaches you and takes your passport, same day service 2000bht.

Dont do this if you have no appetite for risk,

Single Entry go for USD 40.- since mid november.

Not sure if they still do double, some reports indicate yes, other say no way.
