Where To Find A Manual Typewriter (Prefereably Non-Electric)?

Featured Replies

I've looked for awhile, and while I can find them at the used market on Bamrungrat Road (near PRC), they are all Thai (for obvious reasons). I need one in English.

Any ideas?

That's true, but for that price shouldn't YOU be getting it serviced and providing the new ribbon for the would be buyer? Or you can try to offload it to a museum in another 50 years.

Another know it all ,who has to make a comment,if Mark does not want it,no problem, I know its a fair price, but this is Thai Visa ,Chiang Mai

and it seems there are an over abundance of posters who cannot stop themselves from making snide, stupid, non constructive remarks,

I don't think he wants a useless typewriter.

I was wondering if you can still get ribbons for them.

Takes me back over 50 years I learned on an old black Underwood.

The typewriter works fine ,so its not useless, and you dont know

what Mark wants it for. and of course you can get ribbons.

so just another non constructive post Hello Dolly,

If you could advise the OP where to buy a brand new

manual typewriter for 1k bht ,then anything else you

say is unproductive and a waste of time really

Passed by the second hand depot place just North of the Nong Hoi intersection today and happened to see at least three vintage type writers. They could be Thai for all I know but then again, they may not, and it might be just what you're after.

I have a nice small portable that understands and writes perfect English.

Only needs a ribbon, and they can be obtained from the same shop in Chang Moy Road that serviced it.

750b inc case.

PM me, giving me your own e-mail address, if interested.

Typewriter wars...........

Love it!! :whistling:

I ALWAYS ONLY type my manifestos with typewriters.

Saw a few for sale both english and thai models. Left hand side on Chiang Moi Rd when heading to Warorot market, opposite the bike shops.

just wondering what the advantages of typewriting are vs word processing on a pc, Is it just a personal preference?

Mark collected the typewriter yesterday,It was just what he was looking.

for,a Xmas present for his daughter, and I am pleased I helped someone

and the typewriter will get new lease of life.
