StreetCowboy
It might be that the old fellas on retirement visas with local wives and girlfriends make it harder for the rest of us How so, explain how this can possibly be the case, it's absolute nonsense. In this world, anything is possible. Mataus said "...these people make the visa's harder to get, they force governments to bring in harsher rules. thats a fact,..." implying that the old fellas with the very young girlfriends / wives made it harder for the rest of us. I don't personally believe that, but he seemed to have more in-depth knowledge of the workings of the Thai bureaucracy, so I acknowledge he may be right and I may be wrong - hard to credit, but still credible... Personally, I've never found the visa requirements to be a barrier, but an obstacle that takes time to climb, rather than hurdling it in my stride as I have managed in other countries.
