brandy
If I buy an unlocked smart phone and tablet will they work fine with an Australian sim card when in Oz and then in Thailand with a Thai sim. Has anyone done this and are there any issues. Thanks in advance.

CharlieH
As long as the phone isnt locked to any particular network then you can interchange sims anywhere. You can get a phone in Thailand for 500 baht so why not get a cheap local phone and keep your Oz phone seperate. No need for swapping then at all. seedy
I bought a HTC Desire HD in Canada in May 2011. After many calls to Telus customer service, I was given the unlock code. On arrival in Thailand, I swapped SIM cards, followed the unlock instructions, and it connected to TH GSM. I did have to call AIS customer service to input the APN codes tho' Now have a fone that will work both places, saves shelling out for 2 smart fones. 599 Baht gives me 2-GB GPRS and unlimited WiFi per month. Thanks for the reply I don't want to buy 2 smart phones and spend half the year in Nth Thailand so internet access gets me by when chasing the sports scores or news from home.
