Crime Teen Opens Fire at Rivals, Seriously Injuring Two
Picture courtesy SiamRath A violent altercation erupted in Ban Sin Charoen, Udon Thani, after a local teenager, reportedly enraged by insults, opened fire with a shotgun at two rival youths, leaving both seriously injured. The incident occurred at approximately 01:35 on 15 August, on the road between Phen and Ban Dung districts, in front of a meat stall at Ban Sin Charoen Fish Market, Taohai Subdistrict, Phen District. The victims, both aged 26, were identified as Mr. Komkrit, who sustained severe abdominal injuries including a ruptured spleen and Mr. Natthapong, who was shot in the face. Emergency responders rushed both to Udon Thani Central Hospital for urgent treatment. Initial investigations revealed that the shooter targeted the rivals in front of a local butcher’s stall during the early morning opening hours. Officers from Phen Police Station, assisted by forensic teams, collected evidence from the scene, including bullets lodged in nearby trees, and interviewed witnesses and stall owners. Police subsequently tracked the suspect using CCTV footage to a residence in Ban Kluay, Ban Dung District. The shooter, identified as 18-year-old Mr. Noppakun, also known as “Heart,” was apprehended along with a long-barrelled shotgun and ammunition. He has been charged with illegal possession of a firearm in a public place, discharging a firearm without lawful cause and attempted murder. He claimed he became enraged and acted impulsively, retrieving the firearm he had hidden nearby. He insisted he acted alone and apologised to the victims and their families, acknowledging the attack was unplanned and driven by anger. Police noted that the suspect has a history of violent behaviour, including previous incidents during the Songkran festival in which he and friends assaulted other youths. Authorities are continuing investigations. -

More "Wise" Bad News For Wise Customers Residing in Thailand
It is really hard to say where this is going in my opinion. It is also hard to imagine that it was Wise’s decision to cut off those 20 banks in Thailand. I suspect they were forced to. Their business is built on transfers, so why would they want to cut off business with three quarters of the banks in Thailand? Now they are down to seven banks. How do we know those will not be cut off as well? That is the main point I am trying to discuss here. When you say those three will be fine, if it is up to Wise, yes. I am thinking though that eventually they could lose access to all the banks in Thailand. -

You can find out how many years you can/have to make up without having to telephone: Check your National Insurance record: Use the online service on GOV.UK (https://www.gov.uk/check-national-insurance-record) to access your record. You'll need a Government Gateway account to sign in. If you don't have one, you can set it up online. This record shows your paid contributions, any NI credits received, and whether gaps exist that prevent years from being "qualifying years" for State Pension purposes. I just looked at mine, 14/15 was short. I have paid up for short years in the past. As far as I remember the "view details" also included the amount I needed tp pay: -

More "Wise" Bad News For Wise Customers Residing in Thailand
You have to separate the transfer fee and the exchange rate fee. On the exchange rate Wise are normally a better value than the Thai banks. And then for the transfer, Wise only charge 46 Baht to send the money from your Wise account to a bank account in Thailand. No limit on the transfer amount for 46 Baht. -

Community Man Takes Own Life During Video Call After Failing to Reconcile

Police from the Muang Samut Prakan station were called to the scene at around 23:00 on 14 August, coordinating with local rescue services and the Ruamkulsamutprakan Foundation. Officers had to force entry into the locked apartment and found the man, identified as Mr. Pithiwat, hanging from a plug-in electrical cord attached to a balcony railing. The body was clearly visible from the street below, causing shock among passers-by. There were no signs of a struggle inside the apartment. According to Ms. Jenjira, the victim’s current girlfriend, the deceased had been on a three-way video call with her and a friend, appearing cheerful and relaxed. Moments later, he disappeared from the call and returned holding a cord with a visibly distressed expression. Despite her attempts to intervene, she was unable to prevent him from taking his own life. The victim’s ex-wife, Ms. Trichada, 26, also arrived at the scene. She reported that Mr. Pithiwat had contacted her earlier that evening, appearing intoxicated and attempting to reconcile, despite their separation since last Songkran. The couple had two children together. She stated that he had previously expressed an inability to cope without her and had made previous suicide attempts, but she had refused reconciliation due to personal and family issues. Authorities collected evidence at the scene and plan to conduct a full autopsy to confirm the exact cause of death. Arrangements are being made for the family to recover the body and perform funeral rites.
