December 19, 201114 yr Over the weekend a front end loader has been denuding a large tract of jungle on a steep bit of hillside above the RIB factory in Chalong. Does anybody know what is planned for this potential land slip area? The work on an access road continues as I write: The hill is a lot steeper than it appears in the photos.

December 20, 201114 yr Seeing this really pisses me off. Isn't there already enough damage being done to the Island. Then especially on a hillside! Pretty soon this place will begin to look like Tenerife.
December 21, 201114 yr Author Give it a couple of rainy seasons and you won't even notice it. Unless it's covered in Balinese style villas. The area eventually cleared of vegetation is quite large: It doesn't look it, but there's more than 30 metres difference in height from the top of the block to the bottom.
December 25, 201114 yr Author Fairly sure it's not reverting to jungle again. Looks like it's going to be a housing development or resort.
