Two men sustain serious burns in drunken road crash in South Pattaya

PATTAYA: -- Two men were involved in a drink-related road accident in the early hours of Wednesday and sustained serious life-threatening burns. Khun Taweesak aged 23 and Khun Anoo aged 19 were rushed to Banglamung Hospital and it was clear a strong odor of alcoholic beverages was present, along with the smell of gasoline. The two men were on one motorbike and travelling down Soi 1 off the South Pattaya Road and, according to witnesses, failed to slow down for a hump in the road. The driver, Khun Taweesak, lost control of the bike which slammed into a wooden hut where bottles of gasoline were being sold. A fire started and both men were engulfed in flames for a time until members of the public were able to extinguish the fire which also destroyed their motorbike.

One day maybe someone of authority will decide that painting these ridiculous speed humps to make them visible will be a good idea. I'm not holding my breath.,

Don't think two drunks on a crotch rocket would notice a colorful bump even if it has a 20 meter wet paint billboard standing on it.

Maybe, maybe not, but it doesn't change the fact they are very dangerous and very difficult to spot at night and painting them brightly will cut down on accidents and also increase their usefulness as speed deterrents.
