My motorbike registration, only 6 months?
Understood - in that case, there was likely 6 months tax owed on the previous registration. i.e. the tax had expired on the Motorcycle (under original plates) for 6 months prior to your 're-registration. Thus; Your 12 month Tax payment (the square you get) was back-dated to 6 months and you get the remaining 6 months on the new registration plate before having to re-tax for another 12 months. -

Timing of Initial Entry to Thailand on LTR Visa
I had a friend coincidentally was applying for the LTR (pensioner) at the same time I was (Aug/Sept of 2023). I was living in Pattaya when I submitted the application, and he was living in Hawaii when he submitted the application. His application was accepted while he was in Hawaii, and he chose to process/receive LTR visa in Bangkok (as I think you are suggesting). At this point you have to re-submit some forms including the passport with "all" the latest entry stamps and then you can make appointment for processing at the BOI. The problem is (and he didn't realize this at the time when he selected "Bangkok" to receive the visa) he didn't have the stamp for his entry into Thailand while he is still sitting in Hawaii. He was concerned about having access to a scanner/computer to complete the process once he arrived in Thailand. So, the solution we used was for my GF to pick him up at airport and bring him directly to Pattaya where I scanned and processed all the necessary documents (including passport with new entry stamp) and flied it for him. It all worked out and we actually went to the BOI at the same time. So, in summary it is possible to come to Bangkok and not use the Consulate but be aware you will have to wait until you get to Thailand to do the final submission. Personally, I think it would be much easier/simpler to do the whole process before you come to Thailand and pay the extra at the Consulate. This was almost 2 years ago and maybe things have changed. As they say: "Up to You". -
