Any Tips On Getting Last-Minute Flight Deals To Phnom Penh?

Recommended Posts

I had to miss my flight the other day to Phnom Penh so I've been looking around and the cheapest flight I can find is B8,000 with airasia, I need to fly on, or before the 25th and I was wondering if there was an alternative to booking online, which would end in a better deal than B8,000?

I'll check in the airasia shop tomorrow but I suspect it'll be the same, if not more by then.

Has anybody found a cheaper short-notice alternative? Besides taking the bus-of-death, that is :)

Check out Air France website or ebookers for 24th Dec. Price at 5441 Baht single as of now. Probably a small charge to add. wink.gif

Flight departs 1345 Arrives 1500.

Thanks for the tips smokie, I can't seem to get a result when I try to enter thailand or bangkok or bkk in the location airport on the airfrance website, can you send me a link to where you found that price please?

ebookers is showing a price of £223 which is B11,000 at the moment...

EDIT/ I just noticed you said 'single', I'm after a return flight.

Then you already have the cheapest fare I reckon at 8000 Baht. Its Christmas mate...you are unlikely to find cheaper. You could try the Bangkok Airways website but I doubt it will be cheaper.

Yes, probably is the best price, for now, although I didn't think Christmas made much difference here, never has seemed to in the past, unless the airlines just hike prices during this time, because they can :(

to start with the bleeding obvious for old hands-but not for the youngies who never ever saw a world without this www: THOSE low fares-in last legs of airlines like AF, are generally sold on quota by AGENTS.

it must be Xmas that jacks up the fares. Loads and more of Khmer once fled now going home-pendant les vacances de noel

As you say you still have 3-4 days: it may also come as shellshock (certainly for the tipical TV user) but the easy and cheap way is BUS; go to talesofasia.com for the full story, wth choice of 2 routes-via Aran-Battambang, or south via Trat-Koh Kong-and can be done in a -long though- 1 day for around 1000 THB-the visa you need to get anyway.

Maybe your bum can even stand this ''ordeal'' as the tipical TV user wants to look at it for the saving of some 4/5000?

I just booked BKK to PP by Air France yesterday to travel Jan 3.

5750 baht return (one way possible at about half that price) I tried to book online but could not get the site to work properly, so I phoned the Air France main office on Silom road and made the booking directly. (i.e. getting the web price). I will go and pay for the ticket in cash this morning.

Addresses and phone no are on the AF website

PS the local travel agent wanted 6350 for the same ticket.

PPS return price includes taxes

Those last minute deals were just coming to an end when I started to travel so it seemed just out of my reach! :(

I gave up using buses long ago, they're hell for me, I just can't stand them!

I'm taking the night train to Laos instead, I've got a mate there, I can sleep horizontally for 11 hours, that suits my bum :)

That's an interesting price, I wonder if that's because it was booked through an agent as opposed to all the booking websites? Believe me I tried several websites last night, including Air France but with no luck, never mind though, I'm quite looking forward to going to Vientiane now :) I managed to book the last remaining lower bunk on the train too! :)
