Refurbishing Alloy Wheels Rims.

Featured Replies

My alloy wheels rims from my Camry are looking terrible.

The paint ( clear coat ) is peeling of in the middle where the bolts are from all four rims.

I think that i have to blast and repaint the rims.

Does anybody knows where i can do this in Phuket and maybe what the prize is for refurbishing 4 rims.

Unless you are prepared to advise the tyre shop to STOP using a rattle gun on them the clear coat/paint will be peeling again in no time.

You cannot stop the use of air tools, everybody uses air tools.

As my wheels has never be changed the air tools can't be the problem.

I think it came from the dogs peeing on the rims angry.gif

Just need a place where they can do a good quality refurbishment job.

its 2 colors, clear and grey, so your looking at an expensive job. I d have them sprayed in one color, grey, black, silver, any car spray shop

Opposite ptt on chao fa west there is a small little shopwhere they refurbished mag wheels

Do you know the shop name or exact location.

Thanks in advance.

I have had mags repaired at the following places

Toyota in town, Manit Center Max, errm memory light on the others

Thanks for the information. My car has only 23.000 Km so a maximum of two wheel removals.

But the peeling is not only at the bolt area but the whole centre of the rim is peeling of.

Did you do the repair at the Toyota dealer in Phuket Town. ( the old Toyota shop ) ?

yep, 2007 camry and 2006 yaris rims, both insurance claims

I would try first with a warranty claim, as it seems obvious you havent caused the paint to peel off

I dont think they do it themselves, so if you have to pay the bill, I would simply ask the lady running their body/paint shop where its done
