The date is definitely not set in stone yet. I think I will be in India approx. March so I thought it would be nice to stop over in Thailand after.

Keep in mind, I've been to Thailand previously and took the typical tour (ie: pattaya, chiangmai and ofcourse the Bar scene of Bangkok). I just wanted some place different & beautiful :o

It would be a good time to take a tour down south. Hua Hin, Chumpon (beach), Phuket, etc. Not too rainy yet, but still not the full blown heat either.

Chumpon is a dirty mess of a city, but the beach is tranquil and relatively unspoiled.

Looks very nice and I just might take a look at it when I'm there.

Are there any particular hotels, motel, B & B any of you can reccommend in any of these places?. It doesn't have to be anything extravagant but It would be nice to have a beautiful location, great seafood and friendly hotelstaffs (hard to find in Bkk) :o

I will be traveling with a couple of my co-workers and I'm sure they want the same.

I've stayed in the Chumpon Grand hotel. A very large hotel that sticks up like a sore thumb and the owner has a collection of supercars.

Not bad but not special. (massage ladies in the basement :D:o )

Chumpon Grand Hotel. 077-571715-22 328-15 Pracha-Uthit Rd.

Good price, clean air-con room, includes breakfast and the Heineken in the mini-bar is only 40b.

I recommend trying to find someplace near the beach though. Lots of nice little bungalows there that I wish I'd stayed in instead.
