Eggnog In Chiang Mai?

Featured Replies

It is fairly easy to get eggnog in Bangkok and there are some decent home made varieties available in stores. Are they selling it anywhere in Chiang Mai?.

I've been looking for some eggnog for the past month or so, and the only place I've seen it for sale is at the Rimping at Meechok Plaza. Unfortunately, they want something like 240 bht for a quart of the stuff, so.... I made a couple quarts of my own. Not too difficult to put together a simple cooked creamy version (without separating the eggs and whipping the whites and what-not...). Toss in a splash of cheap French brandy, grate a little nutmeg on top, crank up the Bing, and you're in business!

Thanks for that. I agree, 240 is not exactly cheap.

Not quite eggnog, but has anyone spotted Warnincks Advocaat on their rounds?

Sorry for diverting UG jap.gif

Ok I can no longer resist.. I did wait to see if a place name came up to fully answer the question, but seeing that it doesn't: WHY not make it yourself?? Google will point you to a hundred sites that have the recipe in milliseconds.

Because I do not like to make my own food if I can avoid it, but apparently Rimping at Meechok Plaza does have it for sale if one is willing to pay the price.
