Hoping to spend New Year's Eve in Bangkok, then travel to Ko Chang on Monday the second of January. Does anyone know what will be the situation on the island during the first week of January? Is it going to be packed with holiday-makers or do I still stand a chance on finding a room? I don't mind paying a bit extra, but hopefully not more than twice the normal rate. Planning on staying in Lonely Beach.

One more question... My flight leaves on the January 8, close to midnight, so I will have to be at the airport at around 10 PM. Is there a bus that goes from the pier or from Trat directly to the airport, or do I need to transport via Bangkok first?
