PATTAYA: -- A 56 year old man and his 7 year old step-son drowned at a lake in the Huoy Yai area on New Year’s Eve. Police and rescue workers were called to the area and spoke with Khun Sunee aged 45 who was being comforted by friends. He decided to jump into the lake despite the obvious dangers of being dragged through a dike located close-by. The family was in a relaxed mood and three of Khun Sunee’s children jumped in soon-after. All four soon got into difficulties and were dragged through the dike. The 7 year old drowned along with his stepfather while the two other children were able to swim against the currents
