ZZZ
I'm buying a condo in Thailand and may have a problem being here for the transfer date. I read on one website that you need to produce a copy of your passport with a valid visa stamp showing that you are in the country at the time of the transfer. Have anyone done a transfer without being here; can it be done with a power of attorney?
expatinasia
They need a copy of your passport for the records. They need to see your passport, and to assure that the picture in the pasport matches your face.
ZZZ
So you are saying that it can not be done with a power of attourney and a copy of the passport, you must be here in person?
Thaiquila
I bought a condo where the transfer was done with me out of Thailand by giving power of attorney, passport papers, and pre signing some papers while in Thailand. Yes, it is possible. You would have to have some level of trust to your broker/agents.
