webfact
Malaysian court acquits Anwar Ibrahim of sodomy Kuala Lumpur A Malaysian court on Monday acquitted opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim of sodomy, in an unexpected verdict that took the nation by surprise. The Kuala Lumpur High Court said it did not find enough evidence to convict Anwar of the charge that carries a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment. It took only three minutes for High Court Judge Mohamad Zabidin to read his decision. He said there was no evidence to back the testimony of Anwar accuser and former aide Saiful Bukhari Azlan. -- The Nation 2012-01-
animatic
Good news it was always a powerplay setup. He threatens the status quo big time as a modern thinker, and they have been desperate to get him out of the picture. Praise must go to the judge who was not swayed by political influence.
