My friend is looking to retire over here. When I came it was simple ... get an 'O' Visa and then get a retirement extension here. As he will probably marry his GF he also has the option of a married visa, but that visa is more hassel I understand.

As I recall the police report was only required if you wanted to get an 'O-A' before you came out. I never needed a police report ... not that I have a record ... before you ask! My friend doesn't have a record either ... BUT he must get a report? It's just another pain in the process and apparently the report is only valid for three months which means that you have to extend immediately and cannot do a 'visa run etc ... thanks

Police reports and medical certificates are onnly required for an O-A visa which you apply for in your home country, they are not required for an extension, in Thailand, of a Non-O visa for either marriage or retirement.

Yep. Police Report and Medical Certificate is not needed.

Thanks ... just as I thought ... although the info on the Hull Web Site says different ... 22/09/2011 Additional Info on Retirement. Although it's not clear it's info for an O-A I guess.
