Hi,

I got a single visa entry for 2 months which I will extend for another month soon in the emigration office.

But I still want 3 months more (6 months total).

What is the best way to go as I am with my family and wish to leave borders as less as possible?

Cheers.

You go to a Royal Thai Consulate and being Israeli that rules out Malaysia. Laos would likely be your best choice but you don't say where you are of if you plan surface or air travel.

You guys are fast and helpfull. I appreciate the kindness of people reaching out for strangers.

Laos sounds like a good idea. About air or land, as we travel with our 1.5 years old baby I am seeking for the most comfortable way. So most likely we will be traveling by air.

I also understand that if I just go out and in by land without getting a visa I get only 15 days. Is that correct?

Correct visa by land is only 15 days.

You should have no problems if you fly to Laos to get another 60 day visa as it seems that the one you are using now is your first one. They are just getting sticky with back-to-back tourist visas.

Many nice places to stay within walking distance to the Thai Consulate in Vientiane

Most people do not fly to Laos but make domestic flight to Udon and travel overland from there as only about 45 minute drive to border and not far to Vientiane on Laos side.

Unfortunately yes. And 30 days if you fly and just do a "turnaround" at the airport (note that doing so would probably require you to show proof of onward tickets within 30 days, to get back on the plane).

In your case it would appear a trip for a couple of days in Laos is your only option (unless you have the finances/desire to venture further afield).

No I am not kidding.

Depends on what you do, if you turn around and comeback, you would get a 15 day visa exempt entry. if you go to the Thai Consulate and apply for a Tourist Visa, you would receive an entry of 60 days.
