Messed Up My Neck, Where To Buy Massager?

Recommended Posts

I raised my max for shrugs at the health club and my neck muscles are paying for it. Can anybody tell me where I can buy a Hitachi Magic Wand in Chiang Mai?

I could order one from Walmart or Amazon in the States, but they use 110 rather than 220. And besides, I would have to wait a week and I sorta need it now.

Thanks,

Right; I would avoid 99% of massages offered in town if you actually have a medical condition. When I mess up my back my doctor also always strongly advises against that. (Eat pills, drink whiskey, lie in bed and relax until it gets better. ;) )

A massage is nice enough for some relaxation and perhaps a a convivial finale, but not as a medical treatment. Yes there are exceptions, but you need a solid gold / needle in a haystack recommendation.

Wow, "In 2008 Danish research showed that more than 93% of a group of 465 chronic anorgastic women could reach orgasm using Hitachi Magic Wand"

Seems like a versatile little tool for several conditions - worth keeping one in the cupboard..

makes it even more worthwhile knowing where to get one from!

A massage is not recommendable at this early stage, should you have a little swelling use an ice pad

(a1lb.frozen pea bag) for 15 mins. several times a day, if there is no swelling then apply heat (a hot water bottle) in the same way as the ice, but protect your skin in both cases with a little towel.

When the pain has gone do your own little neck massage by switching your head from left to right as far as possible, and turning your head up and down, also as far down as you can and keep it there for 5/6 sec. do this several times a day.

In the meantime do not do any weight lifting, but you can do running and cycling to keep fit.

Really good advice. I suffered with a neck injury (also from the gym) for more than one year. This is exactly what the physical therapist advised me to do.

If you are still having pain in a week or so, you could try a few sessions with a Physical Therapist. I went to Rajavej Hospital across from the Holiday Inn and found them to be excellent. Had I gone there sooner and not wasted 10 months with massages, hot herbal balls, pain pills, and so forth, then I would have not suffered for as long as I did. My injury was severe and required traction, ultrasound, and manipulation of the affected area 3 times per week. They only use traction if the injury is severe.

A professional massage place (not a la Loy Kroh) will not touch you if you have a neck injury.

When someone sustains an injury in the gym, particularly a neck injury, I would have thought that the first port of call would be to have it checked out or see a physio as Elektrified suggests. It seems strange to sustain an injury and then immediately go searching for a particular massager that doubles as a sex toy?
