Shaving Your Dog

Featured Replies

as my dog is an alska'n malamute he is massing a very thick coat underneath on his stomach can i have it shaved off[salon] maybe a.b. can advise me.

Did you miss my other post (check out the balls cut off post). I bought a couple of weekends ago a thing called the Furminator. It is a one bladed brush that cuts away the under coat. I can honestly say that after brushing for an hour with this thing, I have 2 very full bags of hair, but from then on hair in the house is down to about 5-10% of what it was before. It is ace! cost 1800 baht, but you can mail order it cheaper but I was too impatient for that. I put a link up on the other post to the shop I bought it in.

The Furminator is just awesome. It's hard to believe my dogs were carrying that much extra hair! I'm actually kind of fascinated with this thing.
