Had work permit and the job has finsihed on bad terms, Extension till 1st Feb but as not working need to cancel and get new visa/extension. Had non 'O' that has finished and is easy to get another non 'O' at Penang. Understand can get 7 days at immigration for 1,900 Baht so then time to arrange Penang visit but cant get anything from the company. Can I just ask immigration to cancel existing right to stay without anything from the labour office?.....also is it possible to get an extension on this right to stay as legally married and have 'O' visas befor..easiest options please

Visit immigration and explain company will not issue the required end of employment letter - suspect after a call from Immigration they will.

After cancellation, if legally mrried to a Thai you should be able to get a 60 day extension.

Yes, that should be possible. If you can show 400,000 in the bank or two months they will even give you a 1 year extension of stay.

Don't forget to go to the labour office to cancel your WP.On the other hand, ifyour employer doesn't fire you, you might have the right to be paid untill end of contract. If they cancel your job without valid reason you might be entitled to severence pay. The labour office can help you with this. One of their tasks is tto help you if you have problems with your employer. They will even go to court on your behalf, but most employers won't let it come that far.
