Settlement Visa Process For Ireland

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Great site really happy I seen it getting plenty of information about the Visa application process.

Myself and my fiance will be getting married in March in Thailand, I have been in touch with the Consulate and have most of my documentation ready too, I was wondering if anyone could tell me exacty what to do about applying for a visa once we get married?

Ok basically I know all about the marraige end of things and about the affidavit and going to ministry of FA getting translations, going to the amphur and all that.

I am then hopin after marraige to stay in Thailand for about 3 weeks on a honeymoon with my fiance and was wondering then what are the steps to getting a spouse visa?

Is it difficult?

After marraige can they still refuse a visa?

I will then want to travel with my wife between Ireland and Thailand at least once every year staying in Ireland for about 8 months and then 4 months in Thailand how do I go about the right roads for that.

Any information is greatly appreciated

Many Thanks

Does anyone know if you get married in Thailand does your wifes name go on the thai marraige cert with her new surname?

Eg

If your wife is called nat chervraytappia will she become nat Smith(say)

And will this be on the marraige cert?
