Hello all, hope someone can give me a bit of advice as I have messed up with my dates on my visa.

I currently have a tourist visa 60 days 3 entry. I just did my second entry on the 16th January and have until the 15th March to do another run. However I have messed up with my dates and have had flights booked now for a while to Oz on the 30th March and I can not change these.

So my questions are what are my options here?

pay the fine when I get to the Airport on the 30th, will this be 15 days @ 500bht? also will this effect my third entry after I come back from Oz as im only going visiting friends for 10 days.

or

I have read you can get an extension at the immigration office for 30 or 60 days, however will this extension class as a entry? If not this looks to be the best option in my opinion.

or

Any other options available to me?

Many thanks

Each entry of a tourist visa will (normally) get you 60 days permission to stay. Each 60 day entry can be extended at immigration for 30 days - cost 1900 baht. If you made your last entry on 16 Jan and have permission to stay until 15 March, you can go to immigration and get a 30 day extension for 1900 baht. Then you can depart on 30 March with no overstay. You should do it with-in the last 30 days of your current permission to stay, the 30 days will be added on to your current permission to stay.

As you have a three entry visa be sure it will still be valid on your return date as they are normally 3 or 6 months from date of application.

Yes, normally you can get a 30 day extension at your local immigration office 1900 baht fee as others have said,

The maximum fine is 20,000 baht anyhow. But in your case it would be (15 x 500) = 7500 baht

my third entry after I come back from Oz as im only going visiting friends for 10 days.

VERY IMPORTANT.

Your 3 entry visa probably has a date on it that says something like, "Must be used before (date stamped here)".

Sometimes that is worded as, "Must be used by (date stamped).

Whatever the wording is, that notice is trying to tell you that ALL 3 entries must be used before that date because your visa expires after that date. If after that date you have not already recieved your 3rd entry....you will lose that 3rd entry.

The 30 day entension you get at immigration merely extends your legal time of stay in Thailand.

The extension does NOT change that visa expiration date...all 3 entries must be used by that expiration date.

In your particular case, if you are in Oz, and your visa is past that date when you want to re-enter Thailand, you won't get that 3rd entry because your visa has already expired.

So look at that date very carefully....and make absolutely sure that your visa is still valid for the day you plan to return.

Otherwise, you will only be given a 30 day stamp on arrival at the airport in Thailand when you arrive.

It's happened to others before.

Since I see you're apparently going to immigration in Chaeng Wattana, and they usually speak excellant English there, make absolutely sure you ask them about that 3rd entry specifically when you get your extension.
