Red-Shirts Face Axe

Red-shirts face axe

The Nation on Sunday

An initial list of designated advisers and secretaries for ministers will be submitted for Cabinet approval on Tuesday.

A source said the Pheu Thai Party had no problem selecting the first lot of advisers and secretaries, as people selected for the posts had performed outstandingly and satisfied senior party figures.

But some red-shirt leaders who were given posts may be removed because they had not been able to do well for ministers. They could no longer claim the government owed them a debt for their role in helping it win the election, the source said.

In view of the fact that the new government has performed at least as badly as the previous Dem-led government, some new faces can only be a good thing.

Could be an interesting time if some of the Red Shirt foot soldiers and their supporters feel that the inevitable is happening and now they are being dumped.

One could also say that some pigs are more competent than other pigs.

Sure they are being dumped. Thaksin and company only consider them as useful idiots. Now that PTP is in control who needs them?

Thought you had to have a degree to be an MP. Are all these MPs degree holders? On the basis of some of the statements that come out, I wonder what level of education some of these people have? One would like to think that the people running the country are suitably qualified?

Red-shirts face axe?

What would Anne Bolelyn, Charlotte Corday or Danton say?

The best degrees money can buy, one might assume.

Axed as in fired or axed as in French Revolution?

Talk about shooting your self in the foot they are trying to dump their military contingent.

They have to have a degree to be a minister. An MP doesn't need a degree. IIRC, the coup junta brought that in with the 2007 constitution. How un-elite of them!

Nothing. They are dead. Not a very good reference. an inappropriate reference too. tsk tsk.

Since I might get a similar comment if I say 'they may turn in their graves at the thought', let's just point to this newflash which (of course) may not be related at all, but then the Human Rights Watch group doesn't have much to say about 2012 yet
