toenail
On January 28, there is a big music festival near Silverlake vineyards, south of Pattaya. There will be two stages with Western bands and Thai bands. Many of the bands are well known with the "younger generation". The concert is sponsored by big names such as Air Asia, Dusit Thani, CP, Coke, and other conpanies. The cost of a ticket is 1500 baht which is quite high for the average Thai so I wonder if there will be a good turn out.It seems to be quite organized runned by "Silverlake Entertainment". So for those who are going, please report how successful it was. http://www.thaiticketmajor.com/concert/concert-detail-en.php?sid=1070

Denise2112
I would prefer 15 one hour massages @ 100 baht/hour. If you really want to be there for free, watch from the side of the road as many others will too. Been there, done that and we had a lot of fun. innerspace
Whether the ticket is worth the price depends on whether you like the music. Seeing 1 good band and 2 supporting at Wembley would cost around the same, so a few good bands and a whole day of live music is definitely worth it in my opinion. I'm going, but trying to figure out the best plan for getting there. Too much drinking to drive, imagine motorbikes will charge a fortune. Whats the baht bus situation on Sukhumvit like? How would you spot where to get off? Any organised transport there from Pattaya?
lazygourmet
I will leave Nonthaburi -Bang Yai district- tomorrow Saturday at around 10am to go there. There are two seats available in the car and I have a Muslim -non drinker- driver. No sharing cost are expected... at all! DMC1
There is a much cheaper option 'music festival' on the 3rd road 27, 28 & 29 Jan if u fancy instead? Started last night and sounded much better than the usual Issan 'assault on the ears' stuff that usually plays there every couple of weeks. It might even be free. innerspace
I'm not complaining. It's not on the baht bus route though ... That is an understatement, I tried it using the sukhumvit baht buses and greatly regret the decision! hour and a half to get there yet 20 minutes back. Only in Thailand would you find a music festival where...... Mcdonalds doesn't serve big macs The only available alcohol is beer in multiples of 3. 3 beers cost 100 baht and the bar staff actually refuse to sell 1 beer for 100 baht. There are periods in the schedule without any music playing. Taxi drivers in the area of the festival don't even know it is happening, let alone where it is. Website not completed on the day of the event But when you overlook the absolutely ridiculous..... Speaker setups were comparable to reading. (Speaking with industry experience) Lighting setup was about 30% of reading which is still amazing! Anti-Flag - ****ing amazing, ended with the drummer playing in the crowd about a metre from me (got the setlist!) and a quality international mosh pit Franko - never heard before but great Young guns - never heard before but great Akiro kimbo - omg amazing, lead musician is the drummer, no vocalist, started with an amazing guitarist and bass and ended with 5-6 songs of drum solos. All covers but, wow! Amazing day, and I even left before the headliner (Incubus) came on.
FOODLOVER
The concerts were awsome! Took the squids and they had a great time as well. Had some crafts and stuff for them. Very safe with military security, metal detectors and the such. Nice change of pace. I would have liked to see beer other than Chang but life's a beach. As for Darrel, if you can drag yourself out there next year i will feed you from my new restaurant for free that evening which is in that area and even throw in a bottle of Siverlakes finest! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQ51hs2wEXo&feature=youtu.be Check it out it was a blast! Rest up Darrel!

A kind and generous offer. But it would probably take me at least a year to decide that it's worth going that far, even for a free meal. Glad you enjoyed the show. FOODLOVER
Yes will be breaking ground soon, and the planning and expense that is going into the area is quite remarkable. The large water park will be open by the end of the year, With slides and the such. The vineyards grapes are coming along as well. The area will be upscale in the Tuscan style with even a water walk. Other really cool stuff I'll share later. It will surely be a welcome change and make things more family oriented for Pattaya. Like we need that.😄 Sent from my iPhone using ThaiVisa app

The design is from some American company (I think). It looked like big bucks and a major tourist attraction like the one Disney has in Florida. --Yet, I never saw anything written in the local Pattaya newspapers. I this the same park I wonder?
