Dupuytren'S Contracture

Featured Replies

Dupuytren's contracture needle aponeurotomy procedure: Is it available in Thailand or a nearby country?

Note: I think there may be some doctors in Hong Kong - I wonder if anyone has first hand experience?

France is where the procedure was developed and the procedure is now available in a number of countries outside France in Europe and in America.

Dupuytren's contracture is commonly found in those of Northern European background so perhaps there are no doctors trained in Souteast asia in this procedure?

I have checked on and off at some large hospitals in Bangkok but no one seems to be trained here.

Dupuytren's contracture is a simple hand disease that can be treated with a painful operation or needle aponeurotomy which is a simple out patient procedure.

I don't know, but the best hand specialist in Thailand is Dr. Panupan who is at Phayathai2 and also ChaoPhyra Hospitals (but only once a week at both). He regularly attends international seminars and the like abroad so if anyone here is up on it, he would be the most likely person.

No. He is the head of the microsurgery team at Siriraj and also a Professor at the medical school, so a very busy man, also goes abroad a lot to lecture/attend conferences. Sunday mornings at Phyathai 2 and 1 hour a week at ChaoPhya are his only private hours.

Check with the hospitals to be sure these hours are still current. otherwise, you don't need an appointment, just show up. Allow extra time for registering if you've not been a patient there before.
