Indian National Visa Run

Featured Replies

Hello Community,

1.

My friend who is an Indian National needs to do a Visa Run on 14.02.2012. He now have an "Visa on Arrival" done at the International Airport in Bangkok.

From my own experience and what I done before is the Visa Run to Cambodia (German Passport holder).

Is it possible for Indians to do the same? Will he also get 15 days?

2.

Another Indian National friend has got the 2 Month Tourist Visa which will expire on 02.03.2012. Can he also just do a Visa Run to Cambodia?

Any recommendation are very welcome.

Thank You

Lammbock

Leaving and re-entry would give them a new VOA, but depends on where they re-enter Thailand. They can only use certain Thai border crossings.

Hi guys...

I'm from India....im currently in Bangkok on a tourist visa which expires in about 2 weeks. I need to know if there's a way to extend the visa without having to go back home? pl help!! thanks

You can get an extension of stay for 30 day fro 1,900 baht at immigration.

do you know if i need to have a months' gap to re-apply after i go home?

No such rule exists, bbut soem consulates will not issue after a certain number of toruist visas.

Even in their own country?

Not sure but I think recall some posts that said Indian nationals were not able to get the 30 day extension.

Indian will get only a 7 day extension on a Tourist Visa, however if they go back to India they can apply immediately for a new Tourist Visa, but I do not know of how many many times they will get a Tourist Visa, but they can ask the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate and also request for a Double Entry if they show flight booking.

I stand corrected. I thought it was 30 days for an indian national, with a 30 day extension.

Yeah, Indians no possibility of VOA on Cam-Lao border and I think chances of 30 ext on TR is highly unlikely. Might give you a week for 1900 -ouch!

Fly to Penang or Phnom Penh, come back and do the VOA at the airport.

Leave by land and fly back could work out cheaper

No need for a visa run. Just go to the nearest immigration office and you can get a 30 day extension which will cost 1,900 baht. If you need to stay longer than that you can only get 7 days more, also costing the same. You must leave after that or you'll be fined 500 baht per day.
