Letter From Australian Embassy

Featured Replies

It seems for me to get a Retirement visa I need to get a letter from my embassy (Australia) to prove my income.

Do I have to make an appointment at the Australian Embassy, or can I just go in & get it?

What papers will I need to take with me to the Embassy?

What cost are involved?

Many thanks to those who take the time to reply.

No appointment

You make a Stat dec.

There is a fee...I think about $25.....got to keep the beer flowing at the embassy partiesdrunk.gif

If you have 800000 baht in the bank for 2months for the first time and 3 months after that you will not need a letter.

The amount in the bank is a combination of income and deposit to make 800000baht.

Harry, you were so quick to reply thank you. I will not be using any bank deposit as my income is in excess of 800,000B per annum, besides I prefer to leave my money in OZ where I can get a decent interest rate.

The requirement is only 65k per month if using just income. Not much difference but for some it could matter.

Income from my investments are over 100K per month so that should be OK.

Thank you lopburi you are a wealth of information

Every year when I have visited the Australian Embassy I have taken proof of income however they have never asked for it. I suggest you download the required form on line and type in the information rather than write it by hand at the Embassy. The immigration office in Jomtien advised me to do this because they have a problem reading some hand writing and it looks more official.

You only need to state that your income is so much per month and add the figures below.

No appointment required whereas Americans have to book an appointment and pay a higher fee. Think the Brits pay even more!
