Govt's approval rates at just over half

BANGKOK: -- The Yingluck government scored a little over half of total in its six-month job approval rating, according to a Dusit poll released yesterday.

Northern people gave the government the highest score with 6.1 out of 10, followed by northeastern 5.87, and Central region 5.75, Bangkok 5.61 and the South gave the government the lowest rating of 4.88.

The survey was conducted among 5, 375 people from February 1-10 from respondents across the country.

Prime Minister Yingluck received 6.58 points out of 10 for her determination and willingness to work and 5.95 for achievement. Her Cabinet's work willingness to work score hovered at 5.86 and its achievement at 5.82. The government's sincerity and unity scored 5.73 and 5.64 respectively. The score for the government's non-interference with bureaucrats was at 5.51 and the government' honesty at 5.16.

The government's number one achievement was its war on drugs with a score of 52 per cent, stemming the price rise received 36.4 per cent, and reducing national division 11.5 per cent.

The Tourism Ministry topped other ministries in terms of performance with a score of 6.01 out of 10, followed by the Education Ministry 5.93, and the Foreign Ministry 5.91 per cent.

Looks like all those unbelievable tourist number reports from the TAT are paying off. The Tourism Ministry topped other ministries in terms of performance with a score of 6.01 out of 10. No fear of a budget cut for them, well done.
