Hi,

Going to Kuala Lumpur on sunday to apply for a single-entry Non-B on Monday morning, what is the latest update on how long this will take? Is my Visa finished for pick-up on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon?

Is good to know when I make my travel arrangements...

Thanks

Does anyone know if the KL office will be observing the long weekend this week?

Cheers, Tom.

KL Embassy is Closed Friday 6th April plus Friday 13th April - so you need to apply Wednesday to get your Visa back on Thursday

Thanks, so no Monday closures. I'm applying on Monday (9th) hoping to collect Tuesday. Is it safe enough to book the flight for tuesday evening? Or worth making it Wednesday for safety?

Went to the embassy today, waiting to pick up tomorrow. Thought I'd share costs for anyone considering this route.

Flight, BKK to KUL return (Egypt Air) - £138

KLIA Ekspress from airport to KL Sentral - 35R

Single room at PODs hostel (next to KL Sentral) - 45R per night

Taxi to embassy - 14R

Taxi from embassy - 15R

I took the taxi as I was feeling particularly lazy, however there is a direct train from KL Sentral station to Ampang Park which costs around 3R.

Visa costs for Non-Imm 'B' are: Multiple - 550R, Single - 220R.

Also loads of cheap (and very good) Indian food around Brickfields and Little India.

They are really strict on the drop off and pick up times.

There is a subway station about 500m from the Thai Embassy.

Yes, the station near the embassy is Ampang Park. It's a ten minute walk from the embassy (I've just done it).

Another option (if your picking up, which opens at 14:30) is the Hop-On Hop-Off bus (www.myhoponhopoff.com) which offers a sightseeing tour of the city and stop 22 is just outside Ampang Park station. It's 38R for a 24 hour pass or 65R for a 48 hour pass. Good to pass the time and see the sights between application and pick up.
