Despite the criticism that often goes on here, AA must be getting more popular.

They've had a sale on line since the early hours of this morning, it's still really hard to complete a booking.

Anyone having luck?

I got through, booked Australia into BKK via KL, about $80 cheaper than similar flights booked last year.

Opened my Laptop and another PC on the site, the Laptop won out.

Through 'experiments' online last night, I come away with the conclusion that it's always best to open up a few windows and try to do a few booking simultaneously. Do not just rely on the queue system. One queue had me waiting for 30mins before it showed the dreaded red 'busy bee' page and getting back to the original booking page is almost impossible and one has to start all over again. Very frustrating. With few windows opening with the booking requests at the same time, I find that I have more luck getting into the actual booking page and completing the booking process.

Also, I find that I have more success with browser Chrome than with either Explorer or Firefox (which Airasia recommended!).

Do remember to cancel the advance seat booking and the insurance as that will add up quite a bit to the final cost.

Good luck trying! I saved a few hundreds dollars last night.

4 people + one luggage.

Suratthani - Bangkok - Chiang Mai, return ticket.

5982 baht.

Had to buy a seat for my infant for 162 baht per leg because there was no discount for lap infants and I would have been forced to pay 520 baht per leg instead. passifier.gif

I got in to the waiting room all the time.

But then I stopped loading the "choose flight" page before it jumped into the queue and could book from there.

I assume the infant only has two legs? passifier.gifwai.gif

I was up till 3 in the morning, persevered and booked UBP/BKK/UBP, BKK/KUL/BKK and KUL/SYD/KUL for travel in October for two people.

Cost THB 22,000. Approximately AU$740.00(includes insurance for 2). Pretty good price.

Fare is non-refundable so only paid the fare and will need to check-in near travel date and pay for meals/comfort pack etc.

A good tip which I have just realised on this booking is only pay the fare when you book. All the other add-ons, if you want them, you can add in "Manage My Booking" anytime up to 4 hours before travel. This means if you have to cancel for any reason you have only lost the fare and not all the add-ons as well if you had paid them when you made the original booking.

I have used Air Asia many times, internationally and domestically, and never had a problem with them.

The key is just keep trying when they have a sale, many people are booking at the same time. The longer the sale has been open the less chance you have of getting the best fare. Get in early to avoid disappointment.
