Firewire To Usb > Connector?

Featured Replies

Does a connector exist that will allow me to go from Firewire to USB and get a speed of USB2 (at least). I'm not asking for much, just want to hook a device to machine (USB1 on board) and get a bit more speed out of it. No daisy chain.

Thank you

You can get a USB 2.0 card and plug into your computer for around 900.00 Baht.

You don't mention whether your computer is desktop or laptop. If it is a laptop, then another option would be firewire to pcmcia.

Maybe worth looking at:

Hope of some use

NO.

A bit like putting petrol in the tank of a diesel engine.

It don't work.

Yep, your best bet would be to simply buy the port (usb2 for firewire) for your computer (PCI or PCMCIA/cardbus). The two ports are not compatible, have very different protocols, and are meant for very different applications.

Sorry, heres the deal - imbuilding the pc out of parts (desktop) and want to spend as little as possible. I was given a firewire card and external drive. Hence the question. Sorry for confusion. Answer appears to be no. ????
