Documents Required For Visa Extention

Featured Replies

I'm about to apply for my second visa extension based on my marriage, given the goal posts regularly move for requirements

Could someone please remind me of the number of copies of each document

I expect I need to provide

copy of marriage certificate

letter from consulate confirming my income

copy of my passport

copy of the wife's passport and ID card

copy of Kor Ror 2

Map from police station to the condo

Photos inside and outside the condo

copy of tabian bahn

please advise if I have forgotten anything

also last year, they wanted us to provide a witness that we had married 4 years previous, will we need to get the sister in law involved again?

Thanks

John

bank books

wife

arrival card

remember the originals of the documents you have mentioned

usually witness not needed for the second extension.

At the Jomtien immigration they are also wanting a copy of the Kor Ror 3. This was the first year they asked for it (just went <30 days ago). So you need 2 sets of all docs.

Application (Tm.7)

evidence of relationship (kor ror 3 and kor ror 2)

copy of thai wife ID card (signed)

copy of tambien ban for wife

certified letter from embassy showing >40kthb a month income (or bank book showing 400k seasoned)

3 pictures of couple (in front of house, inside house, in bedroom)

map to house

copy of passport (photo page, entry stamp, entry card, visa being extended, last extension (if any)

2 photos of you

1900thb fee

WIFE (don't forget the wife)

That is what they asked of me for Jomtien office and is what I presented to get my 2nd 1 year extension based on marriage

Incidentally it says that "Submission must be made by presenting the original documents and certified copies with signatures of the applicants" but I print out color copies of my kor ror 2 and 3 and they look original. Your mileage may vary.

I required the letter from the Embassy and also the bank books...

It would be helpful if you mentioned the location of the office that required that. At the Jomtien office the letter from us embassy was all I needed.

I have a couple of questions on this; I'm a little confused.

1. Does the 400,000 have to be fixed account or savings account (I bank with the Bangkok Bank)

2. What is Kor Ror 2?

3. What is Kor Ror 3?

3. Do the bank's offer such a service as writing a letter confirming money in account? Do I just ask them? Is there a fee?

4. Is the Embassy letter stating income the same as the Affirmation of Freedom to Marry Form or something different?

5. Where do I go to do this? The main immigration office at Chaeng Wattana?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Also, be aware that all the diff immigration offices can have slightly different requirements. It's always recommended to contact the office you plan to go to and get the current requirements before taking the time to go there to apply.

1. Normally either account can be used if cash account in your name only and withdrawal can be made at any time losing only interest (normal fixed deposit cash account). Normal passbook savings account would always be accepted.

2. Copy of ledger entry of marriage at District Office.

3. Certificate of marriage provided husband and wife.

3b. Banks can provide letter at normal 100-200 baht cost.

4. No it is a notorized type letter provided for extensions of stay by Embassy at a cost.

5. If in Bangkok you do at Chiang Watanna.
