Paying For Voa In Bali With Thai Baht

Featured Replies

Hi all

I searched the forum for this and didn't find anything,

I'll be flying to Bali next week and need to know if I can pay the visa on arrival (VOA) fee of $25.00 with baht. I'll be in BKK this weekend so I can pick up dollars if I need them but it would be easier to just use baht since I live in Thailand and don't keep US currency on hand.

Thanks

David

p.s. US citizenship :)

You could but they will convert tha baht to rupiah and the rupiah to dollars so you will lose. You can buy 25 usd easily in Bangkok.

Thanks orchis. I'll run by SuperRich and pick up a few $.

I got mine at the airport on the way out of Bangok, the slightly poor exchange rate didn't really cost me for such a small amount.

I went to Bali for a week just a month ago and was asking similar questions.

My advice - get USD as you will get rip off rate paying with anything other than USD. You can pay pretty much with any currency.

Another advice - don't exchangfe money at the airport - every single exchage place there is a rip off rate.

If yoiu have more questions about Bali - go ahead and ask, I was there just a month ago as I said.
