Old Bus

Featured Replies

I took my old bus up a pretty steep mountain and have ended up with a slipping automatic transmission. I live near the southern end of moat. Does any know of a garage that can tighten the bands, or what ever is needed, within stricking distance of where I am. I am an absolute novice about these things so I don't know if I need a specialist mechanic or just someone with a shifter.

Might want to try a big Cockpit (Chiang Mai Hod - down a bit from Airport Plaza towards Hang Dong - perhaps) they have a lot of staff and the ability to look things up etc - may be better for something like this than a cheap local chop shop.

I had much of the running gear replaced on my car at this very place - they also completely rewired my head light after a wire burned out somewhere, for free (took over an hour!).

If you really need a garage close by there is one on inner moat , southern side (near SE corner). Its a block of shophouses and nearly always has a couple of vehicles parked outside. Its directly on the inner moat road, no farther than a block from the corner.

Thanks. I must drive past it every day day. I will look for it tomorrow.

if it is automatic you should check the t-fluid first since there are but a few that have 'bands'as you call it and i am sure you think of something like a fan belt .i had the slipping before and it was just missing fluid.

Agree with this. You should take it to a shop and have them change the fluid AND the filter.
