I have had a Non-B visa in the past year. Because of the lengthy procedure and costs i decided to apply for a 60 day tourist visa when in the philippines. They refuse that because I have been residing in the past few months in Thailand. I read after that here on TV that the Ph. embassy is very difficult. But is it also going to be a problem in more countries (the usual neighboring ones)? i need to plan carefully what i do now. i can not enter thailand again on my 1 year Non B since it expires soon. useful advice highly appreciated

I have received two single entry tourist visas after my non-b expired. I got one from Vientiane 2 months ago. I asked for a double entry. They accused me of working in Thailand, and only gave me a single entry. Today I got another single entry from Kuala Lumpur. Much more pleasant and polite than Vientiane. No nasty accusations. I didn't bother trying for a double entry.

Did either of you hand in your work permit and get a Tor Tor 10 from the Labour Office? Perhaps these Embassies have not been particularly co-operative because you didn't do this.

I do not believe a work permit is required when visiting Thailand on a non-b to develop business contacts.

I take it you have a one years B extension of stay? If not a visa entry would be 90 days regardless of expiration date of the actual visa if you enter before it expires.

Thanks everybody for your advice.

Lopburi3: A. i understand a 1 year non B can be extended? but that will require the same amount of paperwork i assume for is it a simple procedure?

B. re-entering before my visa expires would be probably the best option (will need to change my travel plans then but so be it)

You only need to make a border run, to get the extra 90 days. Next get the re-entry permit to keep the new permission to stay alive when you go on your trip.

The tpr tor 10 form is the form with which you cancel your work permit. If you quit your job, you are required to cancel your work permit and get this form for immigration.

I take it your in The Philippines now and have a multi entry non immigrant B visa issued by a Consulate that has not expired yet? As long as you return to Thailand before the expiration date you will get a new 90 day stay and then can go from there.

Yes exactly. Ok will return return then before the visa expires. Great help. Thanks. How yes/no difficult is the extension procedure for a non B? I leave already thailand every 2-3 months months because of work, so if i can be sure i can always apply for a 60 day tourist visa then what should i need the nonB for...

You can not work legally without a work permit and you can not have a work permit on a tourist visa. To extend you would need the work permit and company paperwork and salary for your nationality proof. Cost for one year extension of stay is 1,900 baht from immigration.
