Buying A Car For My Thai Wife

My Thai wife wants me to buy her car. We have talked about it and I want to register the car in my own name to protect my investment but she is against that and wants it registered in her name claiming there would be problems with me not living in Thailand and if she had an accident the insurance company would cause problems?

Is it possible to buy the car in my wifes name and either put a lean against the vehicle or have a contract stating that I am the owner of it even though its not in my name?

Could you draw up such a contract and at what fee?
