Cambodian child beggars working in Pattaya, taken into care by Region 2 Police

PATTAYA:--Two Cambodian Children have been taken into care by the Region 2 Child and Women Protection Unit.

They were begging on the streets under the control of a Vietnamese Woman who is currently being sought by Police. The children were temporarily taken in by Khun Sihadaert aged 27 who is a vendor working in Soi 8 off Pattaya Second Road. He claims the children came to him for help.

Police tell us that evidence of physical abuse by their apparent guardian, the Vietnamese woman, have been recorded and will be used to form a case against her. Items including glow-sticks and chewing gum, which they were forced to sell on the streets, were seized and statements which were later taken from the children, who are aged 10 and 7 years

Very VERY sad. Good they went to the street vendor who took it in his heart to help the poor kids. This makes me sad and I hope she is caught and punished.

Yes very sad .

In Phnom Penh life would have been easier for them. Street kids there sell books and postcards to tourists and they are being looked after by the locals. Not a good life but its better than this,

I can walk out on the street right now and find one in 3 monutes

Find what? A book or a Cambodian kid selling things? Are you in Thailand? Not many Cambo kids here on the streets

To be honest I lived and worked there for a year and those kids in PP are not taken care of what so ever. They are pimped out and beaten the same as this bitch just did to these poor kids. The underground in PP is un-noticed unless you stay there awhile. It's just sick sick sick.

I used to wave the kids that were around 6 or 7 carrying another kid on her back etc. over and let them eat my meal instead of buy things from them. They are reluctant because they know the restaurants don't like it but I told the restaurants that if they didn't let the kid eat I would never come back and it usually went pretty good.

Let me guess, you don't see any working girls either?

What Thailand do you live in?

From your hardly any tea money being paid to police these days comments to not seeing Cambodian kids on the streets.... I can only think you're in Malaysia or Singapore.

I can point out several Pattaya police at any given time who ALL accept tea money, and I can find several Cambodian (and Laos) kids within a few minutes of leaving any hotel. And I don't even spend a lot of time in Pattaya.

You claim to have been here a long time, but you sure are blind to some very obvious things.
