Hey guys,

I have just recently come back from a trip to Phuket with BM Leony. Anyway I am completely fascinated by Thai women/ladies/girls.

Anyway the girl I want to bring back doesn't come from Phuket, and does not work at a bar; she lives in Bangkok, and studies to be Tour Guide at Chula University.

Anyway I haven't met this girl in person, but I’ll be meeting her in April for 2 weeks to suss her out, she if she is the real deal or not.

She seems like wife material (Don’t they all??) But I don't want to be in a serious relationship with her at all. I'd like to take her back to Perth, let her see another country, lifestyle and so on for 3 months or so, and then she can go back to Bangkok and do her thing. (Yes maybe after 3 months she will get attached, lets cross that bridge when we get to it!).

Now I have security for her to come here, house, car, income. So I want to start keeping all the appropriate records, phone calls, e-mails, letters and what not. I think we have had to have known each other for 6 months or more in order to be grated a tourist visa?? Correct??

If anyone has taken back their TG/BG back to Australia, (Perth in particular), let us know the details, and what you submitted to the appropriate authorities. I find the big problem is that I am 18 and she is 20, will the authorities say that this is too young? Or that she is older than the guy means that there isn't a relationship, and she wants to overstay her visa?

Let us know guys.

Thanks in advance,

Flysti..

the topics are in this section just go back through the pages...and look for any Aussie based topics.

You will need a minimum of 6 months of knowing each other before a visa is granted....by this I mean 6 months after physically meeting her backed up with photos.

But yeah get to know her first.....Sheeet your only 18....live a little first. At 18, I was fascinated with all girls no matter where they were from. I grew out of it though... :D

Are you at all sure about anything?

Are you thinking with your big head and not the small one?

Not wishing to seem derogatory or anything, but fascination with females at the age of 18 is something most of us blokes go through in life... and some of us never get over the fascination... :o

And asian women (and Thais in particular) can be pretty intoxicating to a young bloke from the west... :D

Are you quite sure you want to take a Thai girl that you've never met back to Oz with you?

Yes I am 100 percent sure, if it isn't her then it would be someone else, i've said it once, i'll say it again, if she is female, and she is Thai, then I want her to come back for a holiday, it's the whole experience for me, I mean, of course I would like to bring back a stunner and show her off to my friends, but all in all, not that fussed.

Yes, I maybe young, but I am kinda guy who looks at something, falls in love with the idea, and goes for it 100%.

Thanks for all your support and keep them replies comin'!!!!

Cheers,

FLYSTI..

Any girl eh? Oh, she must be Thai, a real stunner and I guess she must also be breathing.

Make sure you tell the visa section that the main reason you are sponsoring her to Australia is so that you "can show her off to your friends."

You will be given a visa instantly. Happy hunting brother.

Time will tell when I bring her back. I'll see any way when I meet her if she is she is the one I want or not. Keep to the topic. :o

Well golly gee, Gomer, it sounds like you know what you want. Who cares if she's honest, faithful, supportive, nurturing, or considerate? As long as she's good-lookin' - heck, that's enuff...

Ahh, get off it guys, of course I value all the qualities, and believe me, it's the most unselfish thing I could do for someone else, if fact, I doing more for her than for me (Hard to believe, I know I know...). Fact is, I haven't explained the entire situation, she is all of the above and a bag of chips.

The reason why I start this topic, so I can have enough information under my belt when I do bring her back that she does get granted a visa. And if I am already collecting the phonebills, sms's, and e-mails, I think that means something, she isn't any bird off the street, sorry if I came across that way.

Thanks for the all the replies, good and bad!

A word of advice young man... this is exactly what the Australian Embassy is on the lookout for when making visa applications. "Trophy Hunters" I once heard an embassy official call people like that.

You will have to prove that a genuine relationship exists.

And what will be more difficult, is that she will have to prove her knowledge of you, your job, your background, your family etc... just to show that she is genuine.

No easy task.

Are you sure about this? . A lot of girls that claim they are a "tour guides" or students in chat rooms / MSN are bar girls in reality.

Ok, I took my gf home to Sydney during her university holidays last April and it was a simple process to get the tourist visa. Theres 2 important things they want to see to grant the tourist visa

* A letter from her school stating that she is studying there , what course and how long.

* A bank account in her name with some funds to cover the trip. The rule of thumb I read on this forum is $1000 AUS per month of trip. If she doesnt have this you will need to write a letter stating that you are covering accomodation and expenses. And dont think about transferring money into her account as that will look rather suspicious.

Your / her age will not be a factor.

Your first stop should be the Australian Thai embassy website

Fantastic post Simmo, thanks for the PM aswell!

I am quite sure that she is student, she chats to me with her school uniform on, and I help her and her friends with their homework occasionaly, shown me pictures of her at school with lecturers and so on..

Yes, she has money, but not a great deal, I will be paying for everything, tickets, accomodation, food, and all other expenses.

She said she can get a letter from her school proving that she studies there, and intent that she will return back to school after she has come back from holiday.

The whole business of me "Showing her off to my friends" was said very light heartedly, I do want her to come with me back to Australia.

Thanks Simmo and all others for your posts,

Ok,

Well I wish you the best of luck but just keep in mind there's a universe of difference between the fun you had with the bar girls in Phuket and having a "real" Thai girlfriend. "Real" Thai women are very shy , conservative and family orientated by nature, not at all the wild, crazy , extraverted creatures you are probably thinking now. If you take her on holiday to Australia, her family and friends will likely be expecting that you are serious and intend to marry her. If you sleep with her she'll likely be expecting the same.

When you decide you've had your fun and its time to move on you could be in for a lot of headaches considering she now knows your family and friends etc, that could cost you considerably(emotionally and financially) to get out of.

Of course times are changing and many young Bangkok women are quite liberal in these matters now and they can have a farang boyfriend "just for fun".

Yes, i'd rather have a more conservative, shy and family orientated Thai bird, bar girls just don't interest me as much. Yes, I have made it quite clear with her that we are not going to get married, and that I would like to take her back to Australia for her benefit all I want in exchange is her company. (Yes, things will change when and if she finally gets here.)

I think she is very grateful that somebody has given her the oportunity to see another country.

I'll keep you guys posted, thanks again.

Hey Tenderfoot, I have a couple suggestions...first, graduate from high school. Second, have sex with people who aren't relatives. You should realize that your girlfriend (yes, the person that you've never met or spoken to) has already lied to you. Chulalongkorn University is a prestigious school, meant to educate professionals, and future captains of industry. It is a course-based educational institution. It does not provide "vocational training", such as for welders, or "tour guide". So, if she lied about attending Chula, could she be lying about her aspirations of becoming a tour guide? Since looks are your only criteria, perhaps you should consider dating a ladyboy - many of them are real "lookers". Of course, after your first date, your fanny will be sore, and you might have a funky taste in your mouth. A small price to pay for being seen with a "looker". Life is an educational experience, and it's evident that you've already enrolled in "Disappointment 101". When her visa is denied, it won't be due to her age - it will be denied because you are a real dumb cluck. There are enough unchaste women in Australia, and the officers are trying to save yourself from your peepee. You'll rant and rave about how unfair life is. You'll pout and stomp your feet, and that's OK.

Hi FlySti,

1. I've done what you want to do. I brought my fiance to Sydney for 3 months. Even though we had evidence of a relationship spanning more than 12 months we almost didn't get the visa. She has a degree and works for a large resort company. She chats on line with my parents and friends. After 3 trips to thailand the Embassy was still reluctant to give us the visa.

2. Here is the link to her uni http://chula.ac.th/cuweb_en/directories/index.html Find her course and check that her degree actually exists. I presume you have her full name and residential address. Contact the department via email and confirm she is a student there. Things will either stack up or stories will start to lead you to more questions. Do your homework. Even my fiance would tell you to be careful.

3. Good thai girls are exactly that. Don't expect to sleep with them. Don't even expect to kiss or hold hands on a date or even in public. Get a book called Culture Shock Thailand and learn about customs. When you meet her family Wai and offer the appropriate greetings. Don't talk about wanting to spend time alone with your girl. Don't talk about sex. Don't talk up your job or the amount of money you earn.

4. Don't give or send money. My fiance has friends who scam money from guys over the internet. They openly tell me that they love these guys but can't choose one yet. Never give or send money. Never. The girl is not your financial responsibility. However, when you go to meet her, by all means take a small gift for her and members of her family. Read SMALL. No need to buy gold or jewellery on your first trip.

5. Play it cool. If this means you've got to jerk off in the shower every morning before you see her then do it. But play it cool.

6. Don't stand for "thai culture" when they ask you to pay for something or do something. My standard line was "If you want thai culture marry a thai man." The whole thing just went away.

7. Do not marry for at least 10 years. You're 18. You should have 3 or 4 girls before you settle for the right one. Try an Aussie or 2 as well.

8. Don't get into a relationship with someone you feel sorry for, think you can give a better life, or pity. Don't feel guilty if you break up for these reasons. Don't fall for "my cousin is in hospital" or "my aunty had a heart attack and we need money". Walk away.

I'm in Sydney, so we can't meet. I will be marrying in Thailand next March. My parents, sister, brothers, and about nine friends have all booked to come. I think I have one of the few success stories. But in the past, I have had trouble with thai girls ... even a little with the girl I'm marrying. Mostly, it's cultural. But you still need to stand your ground.

If you would like to chat more please fee free to send me a private message and give me your email details. Most importantly, expect to be in a relationship for a year or more before you even consider bringing a Thai girl to Australia. That's the truth.

Good luck

Virgil,

I realize you are trying to help this young man, but IMHO, although you have raised some good points, some of your reasoning leaves a little bit to be desired :D:D

And your classic line "I think I have one of the few success stories" :D:D:D had me in stiches for about 15 mins.

At last count there was only about 5 of us that had successful relationships/marriages with Thai woman :o

Yep

Well

Of our network here in Syd which is quite large I would say most of the gals are on their second or third boyfriend here, after the first guy who brought them in.

(most are in their 30s and forties with a few in twenties)

Variety of reasons.

But one stands out $$$$$$$$$$ or lack thereof ,number 2 is gambling.

Valid point Snoopy. Probably about the same ratio as oz woman/men splitting up I would guess. (2 in 3 oz marriages from memory) As I am living in Thailand, my post was reflective of that fact, and stemmed from Virgils classic line :o

I for one hope, that you are one of the lucky ones old mate is talking about :D

Chula didn't have a tourism course last l looked.

Kids who go to Chula are usually kids of solidly middle class families, or extraordinarily bright academically gifted kids as the entrance exam is a beech. Usually both.

Posted (edited)

I agree, you can't study at Chula for tourism degree- it doesn't offer one!

Do you know how difficult it is to get into Chula university? The girls has to be smart or rich daddy. Either way why is the girl that smart wants to run off with the guy she hasn't even met?...not too smart thought! If the girl is still at chula like you said, she must still be under 21....quite too young for thai girls to be alone by herself oversea.

I know for a fact that any good, decent thai girl will not be running off with the farang just like that. What about her family? Doesn't her family has anything to say about this, if she's indeed a good thai girls studying at Chula? No thai mothers of a good decent thai girls would let their daughter go off with farang over the ocean , let alone overnight!.... without the benefit of married!

So beware!!
