Photo To High Contrast Drawing.

Featured Replies

I want a high contrast black and white drawing done of a digital photo I have. I'm wondering where is best to get this done?

The most obvious place would be to visit Artist Street that runs along side Mike Shopping Mall, but I'd suspect (but don't actually know yet) that would be tourist prices.

Wishful thinking on my part that there would be a computer program that could do this, with maybe some touch ups afterwards, but nothing seemed to work well.

Would be great to hear if anyone has suggestion on either above.

Think your best option might be the street artists...think I paid about 400baht some years back to a friend of the wife's in Phuket for two. Did a beautiful job of drawings combining old passport size school photos of my twin boys in one large (about 14in .. two drawings) for their 21sts. Bloody framing in Canada cost about 10 times as much lol

This can quite easily be done in Photoshop. If your photo isn't personal post it here and I'll convert it for you so you can get an idea of the result.

Thanks for the offer Phil, but its not just a basic use of the contrast feature in Photoshop (I think). The actual end result I want is something like the picture below. I can load my photo into PhotoFiltre, Gimp or Paint.net image editors to do contrast and change to black and white, but the results don't come out quite how I want it for tracing into vector format.

THere definitely is software for converting a raster to vector image. The Old TurboCad used to have it but I do not know about the new.

or try this

Thanks guys but neither of those programs could make the drawing how I wanted it, so I'll probably just get an artist to do it.
