First time visa-run Bangkok to ...? (Dutch passport - Non-B multiple entry & bonusstamp)

Hi there...

Just came to Bangkok after 11 months or so teaching English in the south of thailand on my Non-B multiple entry Visa.

So i know about Ranong & Penang.(i went there for 3-months entry-stamps)

But now i am in Bangkok and have to do another visa-run this week.

My Non-B is really finished this week but i know i can get another "bonus" -stamp for 3 months if i get it before my visa expires.

I know many busses leaves from Sukhumit (where exactly) road but where do i have to go for my last (bonus) stamp? (Cambodia or Laos...and wich borderpass?)

Do i need to bring anything beside my passport? Can you ask the bus(driver) where to go and do they help you during the trip?

The 2000 baht is that for both ways and can you go back the same day?

(i just worry a little bcoz there are many bordercrossings and probably diffrent conditions over there...)

Next time i really need a new Non-B (multiple entry) valid for a year!

Any advice where to get it (beside flying back to holland wich is not the cheapest option but is the easyest option i think?!)

Bcoz i allready have a Non-B makes it more easy to get a new one or not?

What kind of documents are needed in this situation beside Company and or schoolletters?

Do they want to see yr work-permit too?

Thanks for any reply u guys give...

(don't be to hard on me...it's just my first post ;-) )

Welcome Marcel.

So long as you re-enter Thailand before your visa expires you'll get your extra 90 days :o

Best bet as a first run is to hop on with Jack Golf (do a Google search for their website for details). They go to Poipet, there are other services to the 'other' crossing (don't remember the name, never been).

You will need passport photos for the Cambodia visa (costs 2000 Baht IIRC) and a pocket full of 1 Baht coins to fend off the little monsters (you WILL weaken unless you have a heart of pure stone).

If you go with Jacks they steer you through the formalities although it's not rocket science, just quite a bit of waiting in the sun (or rain), don't worry, one of the monsters will hold an umbrella for you in exchange for a couple of those coins.

Take your camera and be a tourist for the day.

For your next visa, do you REALLY need a multi? There are no consulates / embassies in SE Asia that will issue a multi non-b, they all expect you to get a single and then extend it on the back of your work permit. I believe that a multi IS available if you don't meet the salary requirements for an extension, no experience of that though.

KL, HK and Singapore seem to be OK (Penang have tightened up so should be avoided).

The border runs from Bangkok on the organised trips are normally to Aranyaprathet/ Poi-Pet border (Cambodia)............not quite sure where they leave from in Bangkok (i/m in Pattaya)..............but there have been numerous posts here about the trips if you do a search it will give you all the details you need.

The 2000baht includes the bus there and back and the Cambodian visa fee........also normally a free breakfast before leaving and a packed lunch on the way back (or a lunch stop somewhere).

If you find a trip to Pong Nam Ron (Cambodia again) take it................the queues at Aranyaprathet can be long at Pong Nam Ron there are no queues.

There is normally a guide on the bus that takes you through the whole border process.

You/ll need a passport photo and copies of relevant pages in your passport take them with you when you book the bus......(they may do them for you when you book just depends on the operator)

The above post will give you the info regarding the daily visa run to Cambodia. Its a luxury bus, departs from Soi 12 Sukumvit daily at 05:30 (Yikes!) and returns from the border at 2 pm.

What's a bonus stamp ?

If you utilize your visa the last time just before it expire, you will get an extra 3 months "bonus", so the total validity will be nearly 15 months.

(see thaivisa.com)

Thanks for yr reply's....allready went to Poipet and got my last bonusstamp for 3 months!!!

(weird to see all those poor children who have nothing and rich people who just go there to gamble gamble and gamble...)

So next time i need a new visa than!

(but i don't have a workpermit (yet))

So if i understand correctly we farangs only get a single entrystamp for 3 months at one of the (SE) Asian borders

if u allso bring yr workpermit ?! (Cambodja / Laos...)

What else do we have to bring to the border beside pictures / workpermit (and that every 3 months !?)

Somebody has experience with Manilla or Vietnam or Singapore ? (Thaivisa.com says that they give a Non-B multiple entry easily...)

Do they ask for a workpermit (certificates) ? Or do you have to show only yr passport and a few pictures ? (like in Holland !!!!)

(Manilla = cheap ticket & small waiting queues)

I don't hear much about those cities...

but if it is easy (more easy) to get a "Multiple-NonB" than u only need stamps that year without the hassle of bringing documents/Certificates/pictures in 10 diffrent sizes...

1. You will receive a 90 day stamp if your visa is still valid when you return.

2. You are not likely to receive any kind of non immigrant B visa on the basis of your good looks at any Consulate in the area.

So...what's the best choice to get a non-B multiple than? Vietnam, Manilla, Singapore, Australia, Sri Lanka! Do any of those cities ask for a workpermit?

Getting a non-B single entry is possible at any border but they want to see yr workpermit...am i right?

We are answering you about multi entry visa but can you by any chance obtain an extension of stay from immigration? If you could do that you would not need any new visa or have to make border runs.

We have assumed you do not have that option due to low pay but if your payslip and tax payments indicated the required amounts for an extension of stay things might be a lot easier for you.

Not even if you shower (albeit mould-breaking territory...) and then smile a lot as you mime? :D

Best thing for me now is going home (NL) and buy a Non-B multiple entry for 1 year for 6000 baht. No hassle, they only need a company letter and a picture !

if you still need a visa run , pls take a look in the BKK Post , there are now at least 4 companies who offer the service , most go now to Ban Laem which is the "little brother" of PoiPet , only one casino n no waiting , just a little longer in the car , but fast at the border you need only 15-20min. If you need further details you are welcome to PM me.
