I just recalled I actually have a white noise machine that works really well, and includes a visual effect too.

(These days of big flat panel LCD TV's and digital sat/cable, people may not remember what tube TVs did when not tuned to any particular channel: they turn into white noise generators! Old radios too. thumbsup.gif )

Just beware of the poltergeist...
