Floods In Ko Samui

Featured Replies

Hello,

I wonder if anyone out there can help me. My friend has just come back from Thailand and tells me that he was unable to travel to ko samui because of floods!! I have just been searching the net to try to find out more but am unable to find anything recent. I am due to be staying at the chaweng regent hotel in ko samui on the 10th january and am wondering if anyone can tell me whether the hotel has been hit by the floods and how badly koh samui has been affected in general.

Thanks for any help offered

Angie

Hi Angie -

Yes a couple of weeks ago there was bad floods. Airport was closed for a couple of days. All is back to normal so nothing to worry about. I just back from staying at Central Resort. The floods were deep along the road in front of Chaweng Beach I was told and you can see the damage in the shops. But they quickly pulled together and now all is ok. Have fun. Chaweng Regent is nice hotel with decent gym.
