Peanut Butter - Creamy

Featured Replies

I used to buy this at Rimping. Now see it only in 'crunchy' type. Checked Rimping Ruamchok & Nim City. Can anyone point me in another direction where such is to be found?

To me, the refrigerated home made peanut butter ar Baan Suan Pak health food store is the best in town, but I suspect that she adds a little honey.

Crunchy is the best any way.

How ever you might want to check in with Butter is Better he makes his own Peanut Butter and I know from the shakes it has to be Delicious.

Sawasdee Khrup, Khun HelloDolly,

This possible side-effect of BisB Crunchy interests me very much; are the shakes only mild tremors in the extremities, like your hands and feet, or do you get aura followed by seizure, or visions, or glossolalia, or any other interesting altered state ?

:)

thanks, ~o:37;

Thus far in Thailand, peanut butter gives me the shakes when I merely look at the price.

I am pretty sure that I saw some bottles of creamy locally made peanut butter with no additives at the Rimping near the Dukes yesterday.

Thank you for those very helpful tips. I will follow up all. Rimping near Duke's, Butter is Better & Baan Suan Pak - the latter will become my regular if it isn't sweet and not too long stored/refrigerated.

Seen at Bakermart, not Skippy or such brand, while I was buying crunchie.

JJ Bakery offers home made peanut butter. You can get it at their coffe shop in the city (Thapae gate) or the diner at Charoen Muang Rd.

Got a blender? Make your own, nothing could be easier. Get peanuts in bulk at Wararot market. Try adding 20% cashews.

They are not crunchy but they do give you a euphoric effect kind of like I have arrived. Let me know how it affects you.

Crunchy shake would be hard to drink through a straw.giggle.gif

Thanks, I'll check there too. Trust they'll have the smooth type and without added sugar.

As easy as that? I'll note that for a rainy day.

By the way, on a related(?) subject why is it so hard, if not impossible, to buy roasted, salted peanuts in their shells? The only time I found these they were of miserably small size, unsalted and not much roasted - nothing like the bags of such one gets in England or America.

Bought a jar at Rimping nr Duke's by the river. Exactly what I have always bought at the other Rimpings. I noticed it had an 80% and 20% ingredients listing in thai - and a thai translated this to me as peanuts & salt!! 20% salt?? Obviously a misprint - the makers, Rimping not picked up on this?!!

I bought the same one today and did not notice it until I got it home. From the taste, I would be surprised if there is any salt at all and it says no added sugar or oil, so not sure what to make of that 20% - maybe 2% salt?

Yup, a reason I have been buying it is that it tasted as though it was made of nothing other than peanuts. It must be a mistake in the printing which the maker hsn't troubled to check.

Possibly it has 2% salt which would be within the normal range and explain the type, too.
