Went to Korat last Thursday for 90 day report. I didn't realize Wednesday had been a holiday -- and Korat has apparently stopped doing their "outreach" to some other provinces. So the place was crowded / packed .. many folks sitting standing outside. And it was hot!

My que number was 8 places back.

Things were really slow as one farang and one Asian took a que number for 90 day reports when the were doing renewals. Both had problems that took a long time to resolve. Also a really unkempt french guy with his apparent hired squeeze was walking around drinking beer.

Then along comes a "really damned important" farang, parked his diesel pickup smack dab in front of the entry stairs, left the engine running .. heat radiating, exhausting fumes. Did I mention how hot it was?

All in all, more than 1 hour with a pre-filled form to do a 90 day.

Why, oh why?

Drinking beer at Immigration. Class, pure class.

But French, not British? That is really a shocker. wink.png

I'll be there tomorrow for a renewal... but I thought they did the 90-day report on a computer these days?

It is -- and took me all of 2 minutes when I finally got to the desk.

I'm not sure why immigration doesn't say something like, "Sorry, wrong que, this number series is for 90 day reports. Please take a number for renewals."

Desk #3 is reserved for 90 day reports only, and there is a queue machine with two buttons, one of which is only for 90 reports. In theory, it should be very quick. I did mine this week also there, and the only holdup was the guy left his desk for about 10 mins, and was slow with the new computer entry they use, but the good thing is once entered, I think it will go quickly every time from now on. No more form to fill out and no copies of anything required.

I had some very funny looks from a Farang in immigration last week, just as was on my 6th beer.

I got fed up so mon aime came to pick me up in his pickup. Got picked up right outside the door whilst had more beers. Fantastique!

I arrived during their lunch hour today, collected my forms, filled them in and went and had some lunch. I was second in the queue for renewals, and left an hour after the officer started work. She was fine... no complaints... but there was only one officer doing renewals, and several people waiting. The main problem was inadequate staff (or staff deflected to deal with travel agents with piles of passports).
